Arizona Track believes higher education should be attainable for all people with the determination and desire for self-improvement.  There are a vast number of students athletes who possess these traits yet lack financial means.  Through our own efforts and community support we will alleviate some of the financial strain associated with attaining a higher education.  There by, enabling these students to pursue their goals of self improvement and do so successfully.

2010 Scholarship to a Boy and Girl Deserving Athlete
Minimum $1,000.00

The Arizona Track Scholarship Fund is offering scholarships to deserving high school seniors.  Students planning to attend two or four year colleges should apply. Only students enrolling full-time in continuing education are eligible.  The applicants must be graduating seniors currently attending a Arizona high school and a member in good standing of their schools track & field and/or cross country team.

As part of evaluating applications, the Arizona Track Scholarship Fund committee will consider grade point average, school / community service and the applicants potential to succeed.

Requirements:

1)  You must be a member in good standing of your high school's track & field / cross country team (your school's team must be a member of the Arizona Interscholastic Association)

2) Application Deadline: April 1, 2010 (applications postmarked after the deadline will be eliminated from consideration)

3)  Minimum GPA:  3.0 (an official copy of your transcripts are required for verification)

4)  Letter of reference from your Track & Field / Cross Country coach

5)  Letter of reference from a person not related to you, whom you have known at least one year

6)  Completed Application: (please answer all the questions on the application, incomplete applications will be eliminated from consideration)

7)  Essay:

Topic #1a:  Please provide us with a detailed account of a goal you set for yourself and how you achieved it (you must be specific)

-or-

Topic #1b:  Please provide us with a detailed account of an obstacle you faced and how you overcame it (you must be specific)

AND

Topic #2:  Then tell us what you learned from this experience that will help you succeed in college (you must be specific)

Essay Specifications:

1)  No more than two pages / no more than 500 words typed

2)  Double spaced and spell checked

3)  You must address the complete essay topic(s)

Application Instructions:

1)  Application Packages must include: Completed Application, Transcripts, Letters of Reference, and Essay

2)  Your application must be submitted by your Track & Field / Cross Country Coach (applications will be verified)

3)  Incomplete application packages will not be accepted
